Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake comes out in October, and the developer has shown off some interesting extras on social media. A recent post revealed an optional no-UI mode, as well as a so-called “’90s filter” that adds large amounts of film grain, color correction, and other on-screen elements.

The first-ever Olympic Esports Games are heading to the Middle East in 2025, thanks to a new agreement between the International Olympic Committee and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The 2025 event will be the first part of the IOC’s 12-year deal with Saudi Arabia’s National Olympic Committee. Microsoft has added some new updates to the Xbox Rewards program in an effort to foster “positive, age-appropriate gaming experiences.” You’ll need to be 18 years or older in order to utilize these new updates.

Quests are simple activities that are done in the Xbox ecosystem such as “Play a game” or “Use the Xbox app” and grant points with each completed task. Points can be redeemed for things like Xbox gift cards and donations. They were previously only available to Game Pass Ultimate members, but starting tomorrow, January 7, PC Game Pass members will be able to partake in Quests.

There’s also a new requirement of minimum playtime to earn points through gameplay, and currently, Quests are only available for Game Pass titles. Oftentimes, when people die in Warzone, it’s easy to assume that the other person that is cheating, rather than admit they were simply bested by an enemy player. That was the case for Expel, a Call of Duty streamer who was accused of hacking by a player they had eliminated. Instead of letting the other player believe they were hacking, they gave them a step-by-step breakdown of how they were able to kill them.

Expel posted a clip to their official X/Twitter account. The clip showcases them using a heartbeat sensor to help determine where the other player is. Once they got a beat on their general location, they shot through a wall and went in for the kill.

After a brief tease last week, the Video Game History Foundation has officially thrown the virtual doors open to its massive digital library. Designed to be a free-to-access resource for researchers, historians, and video game fans, the VGHF Digital Library currently offers more than 30,000 curated files spanning 50 years of video game history. Sonic fans only have just over a month before the third film arrives in theaters on December 20. The threequel has Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles teaming up to take down the mysterious Shadow, voiced by Keanu Reeves.
