Life is Strange: Double Exposure debuted during the latest Xbox Games Showcase, giving fans their first look at the return of Max Caulfield. Max served as the protagonist of the original Life is Strange, and this time she’s trying to (literally) turn back time and stop the death of one of her friends. Lego Horizon Adventures launches this week on PS5 and PC, and at first glance, it looks like a fairly convincing replica of a Lego toybox. That’s an artistic direction by design, as co-developer Studio Gobo explained how everything in the game is made from real Lego bricks–only digitized–and the game can be reconstructed at home, if you have the right pieces and an eye for which bricks were used. Fortunately, there is an official Lego Horizon Tallneck set to help you get started.

“Everything you come across in Lego Horizon Adventures is made entirely out of real Lego bricks, so if you have the right pieces at home, you could rebuild anything from the world, including the machines, the treasure chests, and Mother’s Heart,” Guerrilla’s senior community manager Anne van der Zanden explained on the PS Blog.

Pixar’s Inside Out 2 has become the first movie of 2024 to pass $1 billion worldwide after its third No. 1 finish in a row. The smash hit added $57 million to its domestic total, and edged out A Quiet Place: Day One, which finished in second with $53 million in its opening weekend. Inside Out 2’s new domestic total is $469.3 million, and its $545.5 million international total pushed it over the $1 billion milestone.

Only 11 animated films prior to Inside Out 2 have managed to achieve that feat. It’s also the first film since Barbie to reach $1 billion. Perhaps the most impressive part of that is the way Inside Out 2 hit $1 billion after only 17 days in theaters, a new record for an animated film. Naturally, Disney executives are very pleased by the way fans have responded to the sequel.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have reached this phenomenal milestone in record time, and it once again proves that global audiences will come out for a great movie,” said The Walt Disney Company’s Tony Chambers via People Magazine. “The film’s remarkable success is a testament not only to the incredible creativity of the Pixar team but an example of moviegoing at its very best.”

In 2015, the creator of Metal Gear Solid, Hideo Kojima, launched Kojima Productions before releasing his first post-Konami game, Death Stranding, in 2019. Since the game featured a prominent cast including Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Troy Baker, and Lindsey Wagner, it was widely assumed that a Death Stranding movie would follow. But despite Death Stranding’s feature adaptation landing with A24, Kojima has no intention of directing the film because he’s too busy making games.

“Those works are my babies, and I love movies, so I want it to be something that movie fans will really enjoy,” Kojima told Variety. “I’ll supervise the plot and help them make it, but I won’t direct it. I can’t right now with three on-going projects! I’ll help by communicating with a director I really trust… There are several Death Stranding adaptation projects currently underway, but there is a different story I’ve written that’s intended for a movie. But I don’t have the time to direct it, so I won’t.”

Jim Carrey says he’s open to returning to the Sonic franchise for future films, including Sonic 4, according to a recent interview with Japanese YouTube channel Cinema Today.
